Not a broker, adviser or bank
FolioVIP is not a broker-dealer, investment adviser, bank or tax preparer. It does not hold your money, place trades or move funds. Account connections are read-only.
Projections, calculators and strategies are estimates
Calculator results, projections, return figures and strategy suggestions such as Buy the Dip or Build Cash Reserve are estimates built from assumptions. They can be wrong and may leave out fees, taxes, dividends, trading costs and market conditions. Strategy alerts tell you when a price level was crossed; they are not a signal that you should act.
Past performance
Past performance does not guarantee future results. Investments can lose value, including the money you put in.
Margin risks
Borrowing on margin magnifies losses as well as gains, and interest is charged the whole time. If your equity falls below your broker’s requirement, the broker can issue a margin call and sell your holdings without asking you, and you can lose more than you deposited. Brokers can change their requirements at any time. The wealth calculator’s margin section uses simplified rules (Reg T 50% initial margin and the FINRA 25% minimum maintenance) and a constant return, so real results will differ.
Data accuracy
Balances, holdings, transactions and prices come from Plaid, SnapTrade, Massive and your financial institutions. They can be delayed, incomplete or wrong, and some figures are estimated where data is missing. FolioVIP marks estimates where it can, but always check important numbers with your bank or brokerage.
Currency
All dollar amounts on FolioVIP are US dollars.
The Sandbox uses fictional data
Accounts, prices and results in the Sandbox are invented for demonstration. They are not real investments and do not predict real results.
